Please come back in a week or so – the next one should be up by then.

The famous finishing touch for makeup!

We are so addicted to cosmetics to the extent that we are willing to spend an incredible amount of money on it. Some might argue with me, but I believe it’s impossible for any woman to live without even just one cosmetic product, whether it is skincare or makeup.

My obsession with skincare products is tremendous compared to makeup. I like makeup, but I hate it when it melts off easily on my face which ends up making me feel quite uncomfortable. When that happens, I feel like the time and effort I put into my beauty routine has all been wasted, and it feels like I wasn’t able to get my money’s worth. That is why I limit myself to only using lip tint and powder on my face, and nothing else.

I have a friend who always looks good and fresh with her makeup. I had to ask her whether or she retouches her makeup throughout the day, as her face always looks fresh, all day and night. She answered me with a big “NO” and I was amazed by that. Fortunately for me, she decided to tell me her secret for having makeup that stays in place and glowing for hours and hours.

According to her, no matter how expensive the products you use, how much effort and time you spend, and no matter how carefully you apply it to your face, it will most likely be wasted if you forget to use the most important product that helps keep your makeup stays in place. Do you know what it is?

It’s called fixateur maquillage! Yes, it just a spray but your makeup will not be completed without this famous finishing touch that every woman uses to achieve a glowing and fresh look that lasts all day. it is essentially a mist for your face that works like magic. There are many different varieties so it’s always best to choose according to your skin type and any other particular preferences you may have.

Still a Tabula Rasa

My weak efforts to breathe some life into this blog have resulted in me only writing one post so far!

It’s still pretty much a tabula rasa. I’m hoping to change all of that soon though with an exciting piece on the cosmetics industry once again. Stay tuned!

My Current Go-To Item

Since my early teens I’ve always been fascinated with makeup application. Unfortunately for me my parents were never kind enough to purchase me any at that age.

It wasn’t until I was quite a few years older that I was able to purchase some myself. Even then I had to hide the fact from my parents. I was always afraid that they would disapprove.

Little did I know how encouraging they are though – nowadays they have no problems with my makeup obsession.

Ever since I first got my hands on my first makeup toolkit, I’ve tried my best to perfect my routine, and come up with one that I think anyone can use effectively.

There are many different stages to applying makeup. To begin with you have to moisturise and use a few products that are beneficial to your skin. Next you have to prime, then lay your foundation, then apply the your makeup (and there are so many different types!). After all of that, you need to set it all in place, either with some powder or a spray.

When putting it like this, it’s easy to see why many women find applying makeup such a tiresome chore. Granted it does take quite a long time, but over the years I’ve discovered quite a few different hacks that make the whole job a hell of a lot quicker.

One of them involves using probably my favourite makeup item, primer. As I mentioned before, this should be used at the start of your daily regime.

lunar makeup primer

The great thing about them is that a lot of them are water based, and have a multitude of hydrating properties. Using those that have this means you can skip the pre-priming moisturising step! Pretty handy.

On top of that a lot of them will make your skin glow and help keep your makeup set in place. Occasionally I will try one so good that it means I can get away with not using any spray or powder at the end.

My absolute favourite has to be the Lunar Makeup Primer. I found it when browsing on Amazon and am completely converted now – Nothing tops this one.

So that ends my mini piece on makeup application. Come back soon for more on the same subject and skincare too.

Welcome to Anavajo. I’ve built this website as a tabula rasa – a blank wall where I can periodically come and scrawl down my thoughts on my favourite subject in the world – Beauty and Cosmetics!

First post is on it’s way!
